Portsmouth's hidden gem of an ice cream parlor. "Rich, creamy, and loaded with stuff." Take your treat and go sit by the water and the tugboats. (You'll have to find paid parking, this is a walk around Portsmouth kind of scene.) Open year round. 49 Ceres St. Portsmouth (downtown)

This brand is from the Portsmouth way-back-machine. Great handmade ice cream. Only open in the summer.

OK, this is one of our two favorite ice cream shops on the seacoast. So fun to walk around downtown, and have an ice cream near the river.
