Dave John Gardens is something of a landmark for the city, and offers superb views over the surrounding historic homes and sections of the old city walls. There's also a lovely path that's lined by an avenue of lime trees, providing the perfect canopy for a break or a picnic.

Green area in City with a bandstand, fountain, tea room, children's maze and ancient burial site called 'Dane John Mound' dating back to the 1st Century.

Picnic at Dane John Gardens. There you will find The Simmons Memorial where is very nice view of the Cathedral from the top. Also there is a lovely little Latino coffee/bar.
