The mail boat Vesta has sailed Nakskov Fjord since 1937. Initially with the purpose of bringing mail around to the area's islands as well as to Lolland's Elbow, which is the long sandbank that partially closes the river towards the Langelands Belt. With its long life, the mail boat has a fantastic history and, as the amount of mail has decreased, has found a new life as one of Lolland's highly coveted tourist destinations, where several thousand tourists sail around the beautiful Nakskov Fjord every year.
