In Klis 15km away from Split you can find a real institution … if you like lamb you have to try the „roasted lamb on the spit“ or other meat dishes prepared „under the bell“ (Peka) … you won‘t be disappointed!

If you are planning a visit of the Klis fortress, I recommend having a meal at restaurant Perilica in Klis before of after, above all to enjoy the traditional Dalmatian meal of lamb slowly fire roasted (real wood) on a rotisserie spit ("Janje na ražnju"). It is their specialty, really delicious and an important part of local gastronomy.
