Across the highway from Silver Glen Springs is the Yearling Trail. This historic property was the inspiration for Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings book, " The Yearling."

The Book The Yearling was written about a family here in the Ocala Forest.. check out the Yearling Trail that is right down the road.
