The Great Salt Lake is the largest, salty inland lake in the USA. If you are adventurous you can float on the water without sinking. Take your sunscreen.

Watch the sunset over the Great Salt Lake or go kayaking on the lake. The lake is very salty and can be smelly so most people don’t swim in it. Depending on the water level the lake can be about a .5 mile walk from the parking lot. If you don't want to pay to enter the park, you can park at The Great Saltair for free and walk to the shoreline.

The Great Salt Lake is one of the most asked-about tourist destinations in Utah. A remnant of the massive ancient Lake Bonneville, the lake is now landlocked and its waters are salty.
