Must go to South Rim as the other entrance becomes a rocky dirt road that is closer to Las Vegas.
Visit one of the seven wonders of the world- The south rim of the Grand Canyon is only 80 miles Northwest of Flagstaff.
The most developed area of Grand Canyon National Park, the South Rim offers amenities such as bus service, hotels and water stations, but is also more crowded than the North Rim. Scenic highlights include Pipe Creek Vista and Yavapai Point. Visit the 7th Wonder of the World. Unforgettable at sunset.
Bucket list destination!! Truly amazing natural wonder!! Approximately 5 hour drive North
The North Rim of the Grand Cayon is lovely, but a ways to travel. To get there, go north out of Flagstaff on Hwy 89 to Jacob Lake. Follow the signs to travel south to the North Rim. This side of the Canyon is approximately 1000 feet higher in elevation than the South Rim, and has spruce and fir trees and cooler climates. Camping and lodging, as well as restaurants are available. The North Rim is not as well visited as the South Rim, so it is less crowded here. The North Rim is closed during the winter months, beginning October 15.
