This winery in Santa Margarita — a tiny town off Highway 101, just before you take the steep, swooping plunge toward San Luis Obispo — is famous for its zip and sip tours. The high-flying adventure includes six zip lines, a 300-foot suspension bridge slung across a deep gorge, two short moderate-intensity hikes and a chance to learn about sustainable wine growing, local wildlife and the dining preferences of bears. (Spoiler: They favor pinot noir grapes.) And afterward, you’ll find the winery’s tasting room in town, ready to pour flights and tempt you with small bites.

Not too far from here (about 20 Min south) is a great spot to zip line in Santa Margarita. At the margarita ranch which is also a winery (ancient peaks) if you feel like tasting after you zip their tasting room has delicious lunches and nice outdoor seating. (Tip: Their Renegade wine is one of my all time favorites, try it!)
