A 6km walk along the Anne valley, from Annestown to Dunhill, with Dunhill Castle (the ancestral home of the Power or dePaor clan) at the halfway point. Description of Trail This walk follows the Anne River, meandering through forest and marshland on a specially constructed gravel path on the way to Dunhill Castle, passing many beautiful ponds which are home to a wide range of flora and fauna, including protected species. There are fine views throughout, including of the castle.

It's a beautiful walk in the rural nature, good for runs, because there is no cars around and it's quite long till the Annestown beach.

Beautiful nature walk. Car park at Dunhill, then choose your route. Beside Annestown beach, so maybe bring along your swimming gear if it’s a warm day. Look out for the otters in the river.
