Indian Rock Park

Only locals in Berkeley know this sick spot, where boulders the size of four-story houses sit high atop the Berkeley Hills and provide panoramic views of the entire Bay. It’s not much of a hike up the boulders—probably only about a half mile—but it’s crazy because it’s just this bustling park right in the middle of multimillion-dollar homes. There’s also outdoor rock climbing, and an interesting history of Native Americans using this place as a ceremonial ground.

Come anytime for views across the bay (bring a flashlight at night). A small climb. Locals also use the side of the rock for bouldering, in case you like rock climbing.
A very easy trip for a very breathtaking view of the Bay Area. Highly recommend. Also a popular spot for outdoor bouldering.
Beautiful and unusual park set in a stunning nook of the Berkeley Hills. Enjoy an uphill urban hike from Downtown Berkeley amongst stunning architecture and plant life. Arrive at Indian Rock park for sweeping views of the bay and San Francisco from atop a massive boulder.
For an evening sunset: if you’re up for something more rugged, this is an incredible spot to bring a picnic dinner or just watch the sunset. It’s a large rock in Berkeley with stairs carved into the side.
