Its the largest stand of Ponderosa Pines in the world and standing in it. Take the time to explore on foot or jump on your mountain bike. Pine is home to the Fire on the Rim Mountain Bike Race.

This is the Wind Cave Trail located 26 miles from the Desert Oasis in the Tonto National Forest. It’s a 2.9 mile, 807 ft elevation gain out and back trail. Dogs are allowed on this trail as well. When you reach the top of the hike you’ll be cooled down by the wind and mesmerized by the sight of the never ending desert below. I highly recommend if you’re looking for an activity that gets you up close and personal to the wild life and beautiful Arizona desert. Bring sunblock you will get plenty of Vitamin D!
