With a 50-minute drive time, Beech is the farthest slope. However, gorgeous scenery and great skiing will make it were your while.

Beech is the farthest ski resort from the cottage, but worth it in our opinion. There's a full bar on the top of the mountain so you can take in the views while having a drink, and they are our favorite NC ski mountain because of the variety they offer. It's an easy drive through banner elk (about 25 minutes), but worth it in our opinion!
