Home to the largest Banyan Tree in the world, this is one place which is going to blow your mind! Luxuriously sprawling over an area of about 1.5 hectares, this 250 year old tree looks like a tiny forest in itself and attracts thousands of visitors every year. You can head here for a quiet walk in the midst of natural beauty or you can pack in a hearty picnic basket and simply settle in. The gardens are also dotted with a number of small lily ponds which give the place immense aesthetic beauty. The surprising view of a pond behind a huge tree or the sight of birds, frolicking together is going to be with you for a long time. Laid out in 1787, the pivotal attraction here is the giant banyan tree which covers about 404 metres of land. It has 600 aerial roots, 157 offshoots hanging down from the original tree.
