The simple exhibitions of fossils and birds are great for the children and there is much more information about the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is a cafe and gift shop and they put on workshops and special events for children during the school holidays. Walton Red Crag is famous for fossils and school and college parties come here to research.

The Naze is a unique coastal landscape of outstanding geological and biological importance. As the most easterly peninsula in Essex it is an important site for migrating birds and boasts a number of different habitats, both terrestrial and marine.
