There are several access points for Cline Buttes Recreational Area. The closest is Fryrear Trailhead: 1.5 miles north of the guest house on Fryrear road – This trail head services the western side of the Cline Buttes Recreational area and is reserved for hiking, biking and equestrian use only. A mile or two east of the trailhead is Cold Canyon, a surprisingly deep gorge cut into the landscape

The trailhead is just down the road from the home. (Drive or walk). It's a easy to moderate hike which takes about an hour. Views are spectacular - and 10 mountains can be seen on clear days. Well worth the hike.
