The Mossy Creek Fly Fishing guide service covers rivers, streams, spring creeks, and private waters from the George Washington National Forest across the Valley floor to the Shenandoah National Park. Virginia has over 2,300 miles of wild trout streams considered to be some of the best brookie water in the East, outside of New England. These streams are located in the higher areas of the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains where the water stays cool, oxygenated, and there is sufficient cover. 800 miles of special regulation and stocked trout waters also surround us. We offer Full or Half day trips into the mountain streams or local special regulation waters. Looking to land a trophy brown, rainbow, or brook trout? Mossy Creek Fly Fishing’s expert guides can lead you to the best fly fishing in Virginia. We offer half or full day wade fishing trips for trout on public or our selection of private waters. The private waters are managed exclusively by our shop. Fishing pressure is kept to a minimum and all of them are regulated as fly fishing only, catch and release, barbless fisheries. Most of these fisheries are available for guiding year round. Booking is recommended at least 3 months in advance during the spring months.

Mossy Creek is a wonderful full service guiding and retail shop for any fly fisherman. This company launches guided trips from our property and could be a great day activity for any level of experience with fishing.

From our location, you can walk to areas popular for fly fishing. The nearest location is behind Mossy Creek Presbyterian Church, about a 2 mile drive. Check with this shop for seasons and rules.
