The Lousã Castle is located 2km north of the town of Lousã, neatly hidden away in the densely forested valley. It is not known when the construction of the fort was initiated but first documentation refers back to 943. With your castle visit combine river beach, hiking among mountains, levadas and visits to schist villages.
