Beautiful hike to fresh water mountain pools and a waterfall. It's best to go in a group. Beautiful hiking trail, incredible vistas for taking pictures. From the view of the ocean from the parking area to the top of the mountain. And the pools are awesome for a swim! Booking your permit well in advance is essential; only 50 people allowed in per day. Tranquil and beautiful!

Okay so this not altogether close, its across on the other side of the bay, but it's worth going to the effort of travelling all the way and getting the permit to experience this adventure paradise with deep crystal clear coca-cola water pools, breath-taking jumps and great hiking. By far my favourite place to spend a playful hot summers day. You will require a permit and you do have to book a few days before your planned canyoning funday. Internet search it and see all the necessary info on the Steenbras River Gorge City of Cape Town government website. Sorry Airbnb won't let me post the link here ;-)

A local favorite with cool deep pools that can get crowded. Must book a few days in advance to gain access to this trail. (Cape Nature) Area is fenced and is now guarded.

One needs a permit so book in advance. Average hike to the first waterfall and as you go higher you get to experience different waterfalls. Lovely day out!
