Founded in 1888, Toi o Tāmaki is the largest art institution in New Zealand, and boasts an engrossing collection of historic and contemporary works by both international and national artists. On a rainy day, visit Auckland's Art Gallery, located in the Arts Precinct. The Gallery holds a large selection of New Zealand and international artists, which is free to view, and has regular paid exhibitions.
