Great place to take a walk along the water. Stop at East End beach, rent bikes or kayaks, or enjoy the Narrow Gauge Train
The Eastern Promenade offers unparalleled views of Casco Bay and the Portland Harbor. It connects you to the Back Cove Trail and Bayside Trail, as well as downtown. The Eastern Promenade is dog-friendly with an off-leash area next to Fort Allen Park and East End Beach.
One of the best picnic spots in the state with elevated views of the bay and Fort Gorges. The trail connects with the Back Cove trail and goes all the way around. Food trucks line up in the summer evenings with all kinds of offerings (you MUST get a maple creamy), and there might be a concert at the gazebo. Tip: If you have bikes or want to walk, if you're in Portland on a weekend (where parking can be crazy), park at the Back Cove lot accross from Hannaford and ride into town. If you go in early, the Eastern Prom might be an easier place to park to ride into town.
