Best snorkeling in the Kohala area. We saw a huge variety of fish, likely it being a protected area, also tons of shade

The locals call this Beach 69 because you take a left on the highway at the 69 mile marker. This is where we go when we don’t want to go where there are tons of tourists but still has parking, bathrooms and is walkable. You’ll see beach goers hanging hammocks between trees and shade is abundant there.

Great for snorkeling and lots of shade. If it’s a windy day this is the perfect beach.

Beach 69 (Waialea Beach) at mile marker 69 going north on the highway is a short drive to a shaded beach. The trees go right up to the water offering a natural umbrella to read a book under. The swimming and snorkeling is good as well.

Also known as Wailea Bay, this is a more private and tree shaded beach park, very near the Hapuna Beach Park. Wonderful White Sand and Blue Waters, very calm during rough seas on the West Side of the Island.
