The Montevideo Metropolitan Cathedral is the main Roman Catholic church of Montevideo, and seat of its archdiocese. It is located right in front of the Cabildo across Constitution Square, in the neighbourhood of Ciudad Vieja.

In the Plaza Matriz you can enjoy a drink in a bar or see the flea market during the day. Is a nice walk.

The hearth of the Old Town. The Cathedral is in front of Plaza Constitución, you can find very good restaurants and "El Cabildo", that used to be the city goverment when Montevideo was founded.
