Piazza Del Dotto begins with an Italian-inspired “barchessa,” or barn, surrounded by 8.5 acres of cabernet sauvignon, vegetable gardens, 17th century fountains and an outdoor barn with turkeys, peacocks, pheasants and doves. They are currently offering our famous Del Dotto Cave Experience & Barrel Tasting as well as the Delicacies Wine & Food Pairing by appointment only. At this printing, price for St. Helena Estate Cave Experience & Barrel Tasting is about $120 per person

If you like wine caves, goto Del dotto in rutherford. They have 3 wineries, but this is my best. Tasting fee per person is high at $80, but you do get food after. Great high end wines, if you are a Cabernet lover like myself.

Modeled after a Venetian cathedral, the central rooms of this winery in Saint Helena are lined in carrera marble, punctuated by baroque pillars, with ancient Roman-style mosaics laid into the floors. And every tour concludes with the most Italian treat possible: a cheese pizza. [Cave experience and barrel-tasting fee: $120]
