This trail and "park" is your hosts' favorite. 130 acres of wild land to walk upon. Peace, quiet and an honoring of nature. No dogs, bicycles or other self or motorized vehicles allowed. This site is for walking, reflecting, perhaps some nature photography or sketching. From the website: "Miller Woods provides opportunities for all ages to experience and enjoy the dynamic wonders of nature, and learn about forestry, wildlife, soils, watershed health, native plants, and the role of people in the landscape. Through demonstrations and education programs, Miller Woods strives to instill the knowledge, skills, and awareness which will inspire visitors and members of our community to become more responsible and caring stewards of our natural resources. The 130 acres of forest and grass land that make up Miller Woods were bequeathed to the Yamhill Soil and Water Conservation District by Frieda Miller in 2004. Frieda and her husband K.T. Miller settled on the property in 1967 after retiring from a career as military contractors in Alaska. Both Frieda and K.T. had a deep appreciation for nature and for active management of their woodland which they managed for timber and wildlife. The property contains a wide array of ecosystems ranging from hayfield and oak savannah to timber stands of varying ages, ponds, and streams which are home to a diverse group of native plants, birds, and other wildlife."
