This is a great place to take the family for a day of hiking or to just enjoy the view from the top of the Canyon.
A landscape resembling the American West, it has been nickname "Little Grand Canyon." Carved by erosion due to poor farming practices, the canyons offer a fascinating look at the colorful history and geology of south Georgia. Backpackers explore the canyon inside and out along a challenging 7-mile trail that leads to six primitive campsites.
Not that close, maybe an hour but this place is unforgettable and lots of hiking opportunities. Also you c an stop by Omaha Brewery and Richland Rummery on the Way!
In under an hour's drive, you can uncover the layers of 'Georgia’s Little Grand Canyon' as you navigate the unusual geological formations created by erosion of the Coastal Plain after years of poor agricultural practices, hike miles of sandy nature trails, and gaze at dark skies while camping at Providence Canyon State Park.
