The public can use the Point Washington State Forest for a variety of outdoor activities. Hunting, off-road bicycling, and hiking are all popular activities in the forest. The Eastern Lake Trail System was the forest's first trail system. Three double-track loop trails make up this trail system. The 3.5-, 5-, or 10-mile loop can be completed by hikers or bicyclists. The Florida Forest Service's Trailwalker Hiking Program includes the Eastern Lake Bike/Hike Trail. The parking lot and trailhead on County Road 395 provide access to the trail system. Eastern Lake Campground, located near the 4-mile marker on the Eastern Lake Trail, offers overnight camping. Reservations are required for the four primitive campsites.
