If Chop Suey is too much, head next door to Bar Sue. They usually have a movie on and it's a low-key basement level bar.
If you want to go out on a Monday, this is the place. "Motown on Mondays," though somewhat of a misnomer (they'll slip in hip hop and other non-Motown stuff), is probably the busiest spot in the city on a Monday. No cover.
Neighborhood watering hole. If you want to experience how Seattleites go out go here.
The new kitchen inside Bar Sue is called Melt. The menu has 6 (?) types of mac and cheese (gnocci truffle mac and cheese?!) and 6 sandwiches, along with some really good sides. Kale slaw salad is awesome. The kitchen is open 7 days a week and on Monday they do a power minute deal -- 6:30-7 pm the regular mac and cheese and the beer cheese fries are TWO DOLLARS. TWO AMERICAN DOLLARS gets you some of the tastiest, amazing drunk foods ever created AND BACON IS JUST A BUCK MORE. The portions are perfect and I'm really excited to try more of the offerings.
