I stayed here for 3 nights and was gone most of the day. The apartment is a third floor walk up with 2 flights of stairs which was explained beforehand. There is no lighting in the staircase. It’s a very old building with old wooden floors and thin walls, so you will be able to hear every step and conversation. The host lives in the room right next to you and you have to share a bathroom so it’s almost like having a roommate. Except it’s not your place, you have no privacy. Lots of house rules and checkout tasks. There was barely any toilet paper or towel paper, I had to buy my own. The room and bathroom were clean but I would not stay at this Airbnb again. Depending on when you travel, you could probably find a hotel for a similar price that will offer you privacy, lighting and toilet paper.

I had a wedding in Brooklyn and hotels cost a fortune, so I went on Air BnB. Shannoya's flat was clean, comfortable, easy to find and affordable. And Shannoya is a lovely person. I was travelling alone, 60+ female, and New York can be hectic and overwhelming but the neighbourhood was safe, and in the flat, it was peaceful. (The neighbourhood was also quiet after the businesses closed for the evening.) If wanting to go into Manhattan the subway is about an 8 minute walk away, plus there's plenty of buses and Ubers are always readily available.
People mentioned the 2 flights of steps, but it was no issue for me, since I use steps daily. Thank you, Shannoya!
