I love Mount Desert Island. A resident of the Island for over twenty years. Retired teacher who enjoys cooking, reading,biking and kayaking and hiking the trails. The history of the island is fascinating and trips to the outer islands give you insight into the lives of the strong men and women who pioneered during the long hard winters.
